Missions

Our missions work is on-going throughout the year.  We welcome the challenges God puts before us to fulfill Acts 1:8 and Matthew 28:19-20.  Here are some of the work God has called us to do:

Annie Armstrong Easter Offering – This offering gives every Southern Baptist the opportunity to directly support our North American missionaries throughout the United States and Canada.

Ray Roberts State Missions Offering – This offering gives us the opportunity to directly support our Southern Baptist missionaries right here in Ohio!

Lottie Moon Christmas Offering – This offering gives every Southern Baptist the opportunity to directly support our International missionaries around the world.

Clinton County Homeless Shelter – Located right here in Wilmington, this Shelter provides a home for those less fortunate.

  • Our Salt & Light Student Ministries, lead by Pastor Brandon, go to the Shelter every month to do service projects. These include yard work, filling food bags, sorting donated clothing, and yes, even cleaning toilets in the Name of Jesus!
  • We provide toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags to the Shelter, as needed.
  • We provide Housewarming Buckets to those residents that are able to move from the Shelter to their own apartment. These include cleaning supplies, a New Testament, and information about Calvary Baptist Church.
  • We provide New Testaments for every resident that is assigned a bed.
  • At Christmas, we provide every resident a Christmas stocking filled with “fun items” as well as a new coat or sweater. The children receive a toy along with a winter coat, hat, and mittens.

New Life Clinic Located right here in Wilmington, the Clinic provides services and life classes for the unwed mother as well as the father.

  • We provide diaper bags on an as-needed basis.
  • We participate in their annual Walk for Life.
  • We participate in their annual Fundraising Dinner.

Operation Christmas Child – Everyone at Calvary is involved in this life-changing ministry! Through a simple shoebox gift of school supplies, toys, and toiletry items, a child learns about Jesus Christ and how to ask Him into their heart.

  • We collect items all year for our AWANA packing party.
  • Calvary is also a drop-off location for Operation Christmas Child.
  • Each year we receive over 1,000 shoeboxes from the surrounding community.

Other events have included Community Block Parties and school supply distribution to those in need.
